Vampires and Wolves and Geekiness, Oh My!

I am currently on a complete Twilight kick right now. Yes, I 'm speaking to all those fanatics out there and to those who aren't (feel free to gag at this moment; this is the only chance you are getting)! Don't get me wrong. You wouldn't of found me camping outside of a theater with fur glued to my butt declaring my love for Jacob with the rest of the crazies at the midnight premiere of Eclipse. Although, I have always enjoyed the books and the films tend to really match the overall feel and pictures I come up with in my own mind for the stories.

It is great to be able to form images in my mind that coincide with various characters and settings in a book, because it makes the printed word that much more entertaining. I can remember reading Twilight for the first time and being totally engrossed with it. I'll admit to my geeky tendencies here and there, especially when mentioning the many fights I have gotten into with friends over the honor and redeeming qualities of each main character of the vampiric series.

I recall one particular discussion clear as a bell. I don't know about you, but when I read certain words that either have strange spellings or look unpronounceable, I tend to either make up other words to replace them or just give it my best shot in the dark in regard to what the author is trying to express. This is the excuse I'm giving for my slight mistake but I digress. I was talking to my fellow Twi Twi fan in passing and remember calling the blonde father of the Cullen family Carousel instead of his actual name being Carlisle. I giggle to myself now when thinking of how she doubled over laughing at me while I sat clueless. I honestly had no clue, but I believe it was the s in the name that threw me off. I just thought the name of Carousel was very French sounding if you said it slowly. I think her exact quote was, "That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard." Don't worry we were both laughing like maniacs at my dingy mistake. I cant be the only one who has misprounounced a name like that right? Feel free to leave me a line or story of your own. It will sure make me feel better! lol

BTW: Check out this sweet song off of the New Moon Soundtrack! (I'm in love with it now)
